Hockley Valley Resort and Armada U23 Cycling Team Partner to Support Cycling in Canada
April 18, 2023 - Mono, ON - Hockley Valley Resort, a premier four-season destination in Ontario, is proud to announce a new partnership with Armada U23 Cycling Team, a development program for young cyclists.
This partnership reflects the shared values of Hockley Valley Resort and Armada U23 Cycling Team in promoting health and wellness through cycling. The partnership will also help bridge the development gap between racing at a provincial level and taking steps towards the Cycling Canada National Team.
"As biking continues to grow in popularity and more people purchase bikes, we see a tremendous opportunity to support grassroots riding and provide riders of various ages and intermediate-advanced abilities with access to our Biketrailsathockley trails. The partnership between Hockley Valley Resort and Armada U23 Cycling Team reflects our commitment to the youth in the Orangeville area and surrounding communities, as well as our deep interest in promoting health and wellness. We're excited to work with Armada to help develop the next generation of Canadian cyclists," said Terence Tse, Director of Alpine and Recreation at Hockley Valley Resort.
As part of this partnership, Hockley Valley Resort will provide training facilities on their newly constructed 10km mountain bike track (Biketrailsathockley) and support for the Armada U23 Cycling Team, helping them to develop their skills and compete at the highest levels of cycling in North America and globally. The Resort will also host events and training camps for the cycling team, providing a unique and challenging environment for their training.
"We are extremely excited to be working with Hockley Valley Resort this year. As a small team with riders from around Ontario, it was important to us to partner with a local company that would be willing to build a long lasting relationship. Hockley Valley Resort has been very welcoming and driven to build something special this year. We can’t wait for the bike season to officially come in Ontario so we can start the real work with them!" said Erica Leonard, Armada U23 Cycling Team athlete.
The partnership between Hockley Valley Resort and Armada U23 Cycling Team represents a new chapter in the development of cycling in Canada, and we are excited to be part of this important initiative.
